"Hi! I am Day and I am a junior at the University of Florida pursuing a physics degree. I was born and raised in Cuba. There I cursed my high school studies at the Vocational Pre-University Institute of Exact Sciences (IPVCE) Felix Varela where I peer tutor mathematics for the first three years and fall in love with it. I did dual enrollment for my last year as part of the national nuclear project at the University of Havana, declaring a major in nuclear chemistry and I graduated from these prestigious schools with scientific merits and a 4.0 GPA. Unfortunately, I had to leave my country and re-start my path.

I tested out for the Accuplacer Math test, the Advanced Algebra and Functions, and the Trigonometry Bypass exam with perfect scores, which allow me to start directly on calculus. Two years later I graduated with high honors (4.0 GPA) from my community college with to associates degrees and transferred to the University of Florida where I am now pursuing my passion for nuclear sciences.

I have been working as private tutor and a peer tutor for my college in more than 10 different math classes (from pre-algebra to differential equations) as well as general chemistry, organic chemistry, and general physics.

I know how important time management is; therefore, when students contact me, we have a previous conversation to discuss their needs and expectations. My end goal is that they understand the logic behind the concepts rather than mechanically answering questions: therefore, some topics might need to be sectioned and tested for a complete understanding. I will always prepare myself in advance and aim to reach the root of confusion to help students find a way that is logical for them, because the beauty of science is how several paths get to the same answer, you just need to find the one that is easier for you.
