"Hello there! I am Antrice! I have 3 University degrees - a BS in Elementary Education, a MS in Education Leadership and an Specialist Degree in Education Administration.

I have over 25 years of teaching experience. My goal is to assist your child in becoming a confident reader and thinker. These skills are important and are the foundations for all successful learners. Learning may include use of props, singing, reading and role playing!

I have a husband, David, he is a fireman. I have two daughters, Se'Lah and D'Lalah and a dog, Cinnamon. We like to sing, cook and travel.

I have extensive training in the five components of a reading - phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency and reading comprehension. I have completed training for CORE- The Consortium of Reaching Excellence reading program and LETRS program. Both programs address the what, why and how of literacy instruction.

During the summer of 2020, I completed a 30 hour course in Brainspring Phonics First. I learned research-based strategies to strengthen students in the area of phonemic awareness and phonics. I participated in activities designed to engage all students.

These three training programs incorporate activities that address students’ learning styles. I am able to assist students with learning how to spell through movement, memorization activities, making connections through phonics and finding spelling patterns.
