"I am a 2010 graduate of Texas Lutheran University with a BA in mathematics and minor in music. I continue to sing and play my tuba.

I previously worked at an after-school math learning center tutoring students from kindergarten to non-traditional college students and an in-school math tutoring program in two AISD middle schools and three AISD high schools.

I decided to return to college after spending 13 years in the Marine Drum and Bugle Corps. A friend told me that if I could help her understand her daughter's math homework that I should help others with math, as well. My friends come to me with math questions, often about their children's homework.

I joined the Marines after struggling in college, but found my direction and graduated 20 years after first stepping onto campus. I understand what it's like to both fail and succeed academically, which helps me provide motivation and support. I have been praised by parents and previous employers for my patience in working with students, since I realize that school can be seen as pointless and a chore.
