I have a BA degree in Secondary Education and Chemistry, I am certified in Secondary Chemistry and General Science, and I have an MEd in Teaching and Learning. In the spring of 2023, I was presented with the Benjamin Peterson Award for Excellence in Teaching Secondary School Chemistry. I also participated in this year's AP Chemistry Exam scoring.
My tutoring methods are student specific based on the needs of the individual student. I have a large bucket of resources to pull from to best suit the needs of any learner. I also believe that one of my greatest strengths is the ability to make students feel comfortable asking questions so that true understanding can be achieved. I enjoy working with students to break down difficult topics into understandable chunks while also providing real-world and relevant context that helps students organize new knowledge into their existing understanding of their world.
To successfully learn chemistry you must master the language of chemistry while applying algebra and problem-solving skills to work through challenging content. As a tutor, I will provide step-by-step instructions on how to tackle the most challenging chemistry concepts while also providing the best ways to study and retain information.
I look forward to working with you!" less...
