"I graduated from a private Christian university in Tennessee called Freed-Hardeman. During the time I was there, I played basketball for 6 years, while receiving a Bachelor's in Middle School education, a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction, and worked on a second Master's in English as a Second Language. During those 6 years, I was part of the honors society, completed a 25 page thesis, traveled on basketball trips, and worked at a daycare with children between the ages of 1 and 6.

My first teaching job outside of college was teaching 5th and 6th grade math and was a head coach of the middle school girls team. I worked there for a year and then moved to Alabama and am currently teaching 6th grade math and coaching a youth team. Though I have only taught 5th and 6th grade math, I have tutored a broad range of students in all grades and all subjects, including writing, trigonometry, geometry, science, and even giving basketball lessons. My classroom is set up in small groups where I am better able to teach students on a 1 to 1 basis.

I am willing to go above and beyond for my students or those that I am helping. If I'm not sure how to do something, I will be forthcoming in that, but I will research the topic and see how I can better help and teach that subject. I love teaching 1 to 1, and even have some students that are in my class and that I teach in Spanish.
