"Hello!
My name is Max and I'm a professional actuary with a dual major in math and finance from Rutgers University Honors College, having scored an 800 on both the SAT Math Section and the SAT Math II Subject Test. As an actuary, I make a living making complex mathematical concepts simple and understandable for any audience. In my 3 years professional experience as an actuary and in my 8 years as a college/high school tutor in subjects such as Stochastic Processes, Real Analysis, Probability Theory, AP Calculus, and SAT Math, I've learned what I believe students need to thrive: personalized education, first-principles subject mastery, a clear motivation, and a positive, calm mindset. These will be the pillars of our tutoring journey.
Each student has unique needs in relation to these pillars. As such, no two course structures will be the same. Some students need to improve their understanding by trial and error with feedback from the tutor, while others need the tools to become more confident, calm test takers. From personal experience, I know the difference peace of mind makes on test day. When I took the SAT, the difference between scoring a 1480 and a 1570 was a clear head and confidence. Anxiety can be a killer on test day, and clarity of mind alone can make a 90+ point difference. There are multiple dimensions to academic success, and it is my aim to help you reach your pinnacle in all of them.
What I am offering is a comprehensive and personally tailored course, aimed at providing you with tools to not only ace your exam, but with skills that you can carry with you for the rest of your academic and professional career.
Your success and wellbeing are of highest priority to me. In keeping, I will only be selecting a handful of students to work with for Spring of 2025 so I can dedicate my fullest attention to you. If what I have described interests you and you want to see massive improvement in your scores and confidence as a student, I encourage you to reach out. To your success!
