"My life-long love of travel has fueled my love for teaching language, specifically English. I graduated summa cum laude from my master's program and cum laude from both of my undergraduate programs. I have a MA in Teaching English as a foreign/second language, a BA in Spanish, and a BS in Environmental Science. I have had experiences teaching both English as a foreign language in Central America and English as a second language in the United States. I have taught many types of English including: Professional English, Business English, English for Engineering, General English, and Academic English. My most recent experience teaching English was at the university level but I am open to helping learners at any age or level. I have over 5 years of diverse experience helping English language learners understand, improve, and use the English language competently and confidently.

My goal for each lesson is to provide my students with not only new language forms and structures, but also the skills and strategies to help them begin to learn more English outside of the lesson. That is, it is my belief that the best language learning happens authentically where learners themselves have the curiosity and confidence to engage in the language. My number one rule for language learning is to make mistakes because they are the best learning opportunities. My objectives for each lesson are tailored for my learners' needs. I give some homework as well as periodic progress assessments so that my learners can gauge their own strengths and areas for improvement. I am an enthusiastic and flexible teacher and tutor.
