"Hi, I’m Angel. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Pre-Medicine and a Master’s in Biomedicine. Starting Fall 2023 I will begin my time as a medical student to become a physician. I have taken several years of various courses of Biology and Chemistry. Those classes have provided a strong foundation for a higher understanding in subjects such as Anatomy, Physiology, Immunology, Genetics, Biochemistry, Micro/Cell/Molecular Biology, and more!
Although I am starting out as a professional tutor, I have enjoyed substantial time throughout my life working with students in a variety of capacities. I have gained extensive experience working with 6th-12th graders as a Sunday school teacher for many years and can successfully engage and aid in understanding to that age group. I also spent a few months working as a Microbiology lab assistant at my undergraduate institution. In this role I provided assistance to fellow college students in understanding the concepts and lab practices necessary to complete their assignments. I study medicine which is a highly collaborative learning experience for me that allows me to work with classmates to understand material. I believe in active teaching methods that engage the student to think. I accomplish this through asking questions and talking with the student to identify gaps in understanding. I also incorporate the teach-back method to guide the student in being able to explain the material themselves which indicates a higher level of comprehension. When teaching the sciences it is important not only to teach the material, but to teach the student how to engage the material themselves!" less...
