Whether a student wanted to do more to excel in classes, a home school student desired to fulfill a math requirement to get into college, college freshmen required help with their writing skills, or international students wanted to practice conversational English, I have helped provide the training and support they needed.
I have also helped first graders to learn to read, to do arithmetic, and to develop science skills. I have assisted employees learning how to do a job, have instructed mentally handicapped adults in skills needed to function in the community, and have taught students doing craft projects or ceramics.
I am certified to teach English as a Second Language (ESL) and have taught ESL to university students.
I am a certified Transcendental Meditation teacher. I have taught people of all ages the Transcendental Meditation technique. I also have helped to teach a teacher training course for students learning to be TM teachers.
I earned my Bachelors degree in Sociology from the University of Illinois at Chicago Circle.
I received my Masters degree in Urban Teacher Education from Governor's State University in University Park, IL, where I was named to "Who's Who in American Higher Education." That university specialized in Competency Based Education, a tool I use to help students set concrete, specific, measurable objectives to realize their goals.

Based on student interest, I offer support and research help to aid and guide students as they develop solutions to meet their needs. I enjoy finding and sharing on-line links and community resources that relate to an individual's interests.
