"Greetings!
My name is Rehema U., a Ph.D candidate in the Organizational/Psychology Program with Walden University. I anticipate graduation August of 2014! I also received my Masters of Science in Psychology in 2002 from Walden University. My dissertation topic is that of attachment style, leadership behavior, and instructor perceptions of leadership effectiveness in academic management. In addition to my completion of my doctorate, I am also an online instructor of psychology for over 7 years. I currently teach (and have taught) courses in Intro to psychology, behavioral psychology, abnormal psychology, positive psychology, child-psychology, psychology of human sexuality, and social psychology---whew! I also have over 5+ years in human services, providing support and resources to individuals with severe and mild mental retardation and mental illness. My Master's Thesis reflected the barriers to a mental illness and supported employment.
As an instructor/tutor, I encourage students to take a proactive approach in their learning process so that they gain a better understanding of the proposed topic. More specifically, I encourage them to utilize their sources effectively. I provide specific and very detailed examples to assure students grasps the material. Students should not hesitate to ask questions should any arise during our learning session, for questions only help to enhance one's learning. In addition to my teaching/tutoring methods, I offer flexible times, and can ALWAYS be reached via-email throughout the week Mon-Friday. Or, special requests for weekends as needed. Due to my background experience working with non-traditional students, I am very aware of the hustle and bustle of work, family, and school, hence, my flexibility
A final note I'd like to add, I am here to help student succeed. Too often I have seen students give up on their abilities rather than embrace what they already have :) Take the time to acknowledge your skills and work from there :) I am looking forward to working and learning wit" less...
