"I started my journey into IT in 2008 by enrolling at the SLCC Skills Center and got my A+, Network+, and Microsoft Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008r2 active directory and group policy certifications. I then enrolled at SLCC in 2010 and graduated with my Associates Degree in Network Systems in 2014. I also became a member of the Phi Theta Kappa honors society. I went on to transfer to UVU where I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems and Technology with a Security emphasis. I graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2020.

I began my professional career in 2009, working part time for an insurance company wiping their server hard drives after they had completed virtualizing and consolidating many of their physical servers. That same company then hired me the following year as their Help Desk Technician. I have now worked for that company for 15 years and am currently a Sr. Systems Administrator. Over the years I have worked on a multitude of different platforms and technologies. I am an expert at Windows servers and desktops, from 2003 to 2025, and Windows 95 to Windows 11. I have administered Active Directory, Cisco Networking, Group Policy, DNS, firewalls, MSSQL, DFS, DHCP, WSUS, Azure VMs and networking, Apache Tomcat, Ubuntu Linux, and other technologies. I know how to manage and maintain an enterprise environment, primarily in a Windows based ecosystem.

My personal favorite specialty is PowerShell scripting. I have written hundreds of PowerShell scripts that automate routine or mundane aspects of my job. I have saved countless hours by scripting away repetitive and mind numbing tasks. One of the greatest joys I get at my job is being able to teach new hires how to script and see their amazement when they are able to build and execute a script that eliminates a tedious task that they have been doing.
