My experiences working with Deaf children, special needs, and regular education students has provided me a wide variety of learning styles and student's needs. By focusing on the student and adapting to their unique learning style, I have helped many become successful in their curriculum. Allow me to make your child's learning experience a treasured time. While working in Home Health Care, I enjoyed the opportunity to work with a 15 year old autistic boy. Unfortunately, I was injured and am limited in my ability to maneuver.

When tutoring students, finding the appropriate content standards for the grade and subject occur first. Next, an interview with the student and parent/care giver allow me to understand what is expected of me and I learn about the needs of the student. By incorporating the arts into the curriculum, students experience greater retention, abstract reasoning skills, and have an enjoyable learning experience. The application of real life scenarios to the learning process also helps cement the retention level of learners.

While on Maui, the Maui Arts and Cultural Center (MACC) had summer programs for teachers that provided myself and other teachers the skills necessary to integrate the arts into curriculum. Visual arts, music, dance and drama were used to enhance lessons for grades K to 12.

By working with the American Red Cross as a CPR, First Aid, AED, and Water Safety Instructor as well as being a United States Coast Guard Ocean Operator licensed to operate vessels up to 100 tons and a Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) Open Water Scuba Instructor, many experiences of life helped me to give my students greater depth to their learning.

I attended California State University at Long Beach and majored in Theater Arts with an emphasis in technical theater.
