"Ciao a tutti! Hola a todos! I'm Jeremy, and I graduated from New York University in 2021 with a B.A. in History with minors in Arabic and Psychology, and extensive coursework in Italian. I have successfully achieved proficiency in 6 languages (Italian, Spanish, French, English, Arabic, and Hebrew). My interest in language learning dramatically grew when I moved to Italy when I was 18 years old to spend my first year of university studying in Florence. I realized then that conversation and immersion helped me improve my Italian far more than formal classroom instruction, and by the end of the year, I had finally achieved fluency! It felt like a superpower-- I was even able to travel across the entire country by bicycle and communicate with everyone I met, from fellow students, to business professionals, to rural villagers!

When I moved back to the United States, I thought, "What if I can create an immersive experience for myself to learn languages virtually through the use of tutoring, technology, and age-old language acquisition methods such as comprehensible input and spaced repetition?" After lots of trial and error, I finally cracked the code, and was able to obtain fluency in Spanish and French despite having no academic background in either language. I aim to recreate this experience for my students. We will start by talking about your goals so I can learn more about what makes you interested in the language, and what type of learner you are. Then, I will create a personalized immersive environment for you to learn Italian or Spanish primarily through conversation. Finally, I will provide you with recommendations for ways in which you can continue learning passively in your daily life through the research-backed approach of comprehensible input.
