"Hello! My name is Nico and I would be delighted to work with you. I currently work at Harvard University Herbaria and I graduated magna cum laude from Brown University with degrees in Biology and Philosophy. I tutor at the college and high school levels, specializing in college essay writing and applications, biology (physiology, botany, zoology, biochemistry), literature, philosophy (esp. 20th century continental), history, and Spanish.
I have had one year of experience tutoring high school math, science, and English. I have also assisted my peers with college essays on an informal basis, helping with successful application essay submissions to Cornell University, UNC Chapel Hill, Yale University Medical School, UC Berkeley, and Brown University. My methodology consists in drawing out my students' unique qualities to demonstrate to admissions committees what sets this student apart from the others. I have also worked as a copyeditor for a book publishing company, Collective Ink, so I have the experience allowing me to ensure that any student's work will be sophisticated and error-free at the time of submission.
In college, I maintained a 4.0 GPA for all classes taken in both of my majors. Some of these classes include Organic Chemistry I and II, General Chemistry, Biochemistry, Plant Evolution, Neuroscience, Human Physiology, Early Modern Philosophy, and Ancient Philosophy. Students desiring tutoring in any of these subjects will benefit from these topics being fresh in my mind, as I use many concepts from these classes in my job and other professional activities. I stay sharp and up-to-date on my academic interests, especially philosophy, by taking classes at Harvard in my spare time." less...
