I hold a BSc in Engineering from Cornell University. I have over 1000 hours of experience tutoring Math online. I've also been tutoring Math (Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, Applied Technical Math & SAT Prep) at the local charter school since 2015.

While I mainly tutor High School students, I have, on occasion, tutored students in the lower grades at my K-12 school. Many of the students I work with come from economically disadvantaged and/or at-risk backgrounds. I will explain the topic using different examples as many times as it takes to help my students grasp the topic.

Depending on my student's needs, a tutoring session may include a topic lesson overview (an in-a-nutshell lesson). Otherwise, I will normally refer to the work being covered in class and make up an example problem or two to work through. I will then have the student work through their problems and provide questioning prompts or hints at the points where they get stuck.
