"My name is Nicolette, and I specialize in SAT preparation and college admissions. I am a junior at the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn), and I intend on going to medical school after my undergraduate years. I have worked within two intensive care units as the sole mentee of a pediatric rheumatologist at UCLA and professor at Harvard University. I really enjoy supporting others in contexts outside of the ICU too - I'd be willing to help out with testing prep, college essays, pre-medical guidance, or searching for college-level research opportunities.
I missed a significant portion of my junior year of high school due to health complications, and I was only able to catch up with the help of teachers and peer tutors. At the time, I was unsure whether I would be able to graduate on time. Ultimately, the guidance that I received allowed me to attend an amazing university. I hope to offer the same support to you! I am flexible to the unique needs of each student, and I will always be receptive to learning or circumstantial accommodations. I will encourage and work alongside each student at their own pace.
I am currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and love engaging with American Sign Language and Deaf Studies, so I would be more than willing to aid with these subjects as well! (I have spent many days chatting in sign language at cafés in Philadelphia.)
I received a 780 out of 800 on the Math section, which was in the 99th percentile of all test takers.
I was a National Merit Semifinalist for the PSAT, and I went on to receive a 99th Percentile on the SAT (with a score of 1530). At UPenn, I have taken the following psychology courses: Brain and Behavior, Experimental Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Social Psychology, and a Graduate Proseminar in Psychopathology and the Media.
I have four semesters of Ivy League ASL experience, and I have learned exclusively from Deaf instructors.
