"Greetings,
My name is Jun. I'm a graduate of Dartmouth College where I majored in mathematics. My deep-rooted belief and motto is that your success = my success. I specialize my focus in programming, precalculus and SAT (both normal and subject test) mathematics.
I ensure that all of my students not only achieve their target scores on examinations, but also truly learn the material - enabling them to carry on their new mental frameworks and concepts onwards to collegiate-level mathematics classes. I have utmost respect for my tutoring relationships (both with parents and of course, the tutees); with that in mind, I take my role seriously, as should every tutor.
I have had much experience tutoring inside and extensively outside of Wyzant in SAT/SSAT, Algebra II, Precalculus, and general math. During a few tremendous years up at Dartmouth, I've had the opportunity to tutor my peers in mathematics subjects like linear algebra; I have also worked in the educational services industry in China, where -- despite a slight language barrier -- I taught English, SAT writing and critical reading. I befriend all of my students, mentoring and giving them advice on American life, the college admissions process, etc. I still keep in touch with students even now when I've been back in the states, and I am thankful that the relationships I've formed will be lasting.
Why do I tutor?
Tutoring for me is just a natural extension of myself, as I thoroughly enjoy interacting with youth, sharing my knowledge and experiences, and having the opportunity to positively influence them for the rest of their lives. I focus on the student's development and consequent success. It's extremely rewarding for me to see my students improve over time." less...
