"Hello, I'm Xeni (ks-enny, rhymes with penny), a passionate educator with over twenty years of experience. I have a PhD in Comparative Literature from Harvard University where I was a Teaching Fellow and a recipient of the Derek C. Bok Award for Excellence in Graduate Student Teaching of Undergraduates. I am a home-school parent, university lecturer, and tutor. I enjoy working one-on-one with students and helping students navigate the various challenges of secondary and higher education.

As an English and writing tutor, I help students with textual analysis, writing, editing, and proofreading. I have experience helping high school and college students review their reading assignments for comprehension and write term papers. I have guided students in many subjects, including history, anthropology, film studies, psychology, religion, and literature.

I have extensive experience helping high school students through the college application process. This includes choosing activities that impress schools, showcasing those activities, composing college lists, preparing for standardized tests, and writing college essays. I have helped students gain admittance to Harvard, The University of Chicago, The University of Washington (including the Paul G. Allen School of Computer Science and Engineering), The University of Southern California, Carnegie Mellon, Colgate University, Wellesley College, Grinnell College, Hamilton College, Oberlin College and Conservatory, and Occidental College.
