As a tutor in computer science, I believe students needs to get hands on practice in order to solidify and internalize their learnings. I expect students to try their best to do their own work ahead of meeting with up me and come to me with questions or blockers when they can no longer move forward. At that point, we can work jointly on solving the problem or clarifying concepts.

My tutoring style involves having the student show me their assignment/syllabus and where they have the most questions or blockers. I will encourage active learning through open-ended questions and discussions and help students develop critical thinking skills and problem-solving strategies.
