"I love to learn and I love teaching. That is why I recently retired from a forty-three year teaching career. Most of my career was in Florida teaching high school students with the last eleven years in Georgia working with students with learning differences.

I have been trained by Emory University in teaching math to students with math difficulties. These one-on-one techniques have increase my effectiveness as a tutor. Students from fourth grade math to algebra have been able to realize their potential and have seen their grades improve.

I tutor students from fourth grade math to algebra. My tutoring goal is to teach students to understand why they arrive at an answer, not just how to do the problem.

I have taken the 40-hour Microsoft Excel training. Since then, I have used Excel extensively as a classroom tool constructing self-grading worksheets. I have written many Excel VBA (visual basic for applications) programs from simple inventory organizers to grade book databases.

Tutoring hours are from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday. My base rate is $50. Tutoring is also available in my home. Please contact me for more information.
