"Hi! I’m Ben. I love math and I love teaching math! I’ve taught in Jr. High for 20 years. I’ve taught subjects ranging from pre-algebra (and before that) up through bits of pre-calculus (matrices). I am currently co-teaching a class for math teachers to improve classroom instruction. Teaching math is awesome. Helping a student understand and master skills that they thought were too hard to conquer is pretty cool. I believe math isn’t just about getting an answer but learning how to think, learning how things work, and learning mastery of skills that will last and be useful in later math classes.

In my 20 years of teaching, I have worked with students one-on-one, in small groups, and classes as big as 40 students. I have helped students who struggle with the fundamentals and I push students to deeper levels in honors classes. Math learning is for everyone! Math success is for everyone!
