"Hey there,
You're probably reading this to get some idea of what makes me a good tutor. Well, I can't really answer that. I mean, I could talk about what qualifications and experience I have, but that will only show that I'm a qualified and experienced tutor. And I am. However, teaching in any form can only be effective if both sides care about the process, and the greatest part of the teacher's job is to inspire. I know it's a romantic ideal, and I don't mean to get all "carpe diem" on you, but it's something I honestly believe, and that will tell you more about my teaching than where and when I've worked. Put plainly, it is my ability to engage the student that makes me an effective instructor.
Now, for all that other stuff:
I'm a 21 year-old male university student majoring in English Literature and applying to graduate programs in Secondary Education. I've taught in Writing Centers (mostly basic composition, ESL, and research), and currently teach part-time as a substitute at a local private school.
I'm a bit of a music and movies buff, but without the skill to produce either. I read incessantly. I think that being a decent person should come before everything else, and that Led Zeppelin is to this day the pinnacle of modern music.
