"Hello! I’m Daniel, currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management with a minor in Business Administration at the University of Maryland. I graduated with honors from Morton Ranch High School, where I was the 2021 district runner-up in the Texas Academic Decathlon and placed in the top 15 at the state level. The Academic Decathlon, which covers 10 subjects including math, science, and history, sparked my passion for learning and teaching. I’ve been one on one tutoring privately for the past year, specializing in U.S. history, elementary math, science, and reading, with students ranging from ages 8 to 18. In addition to tutoring, I teach Children’s Liturgy of the Word at Saint Edith Stein Catholic Church, working with groups of children from kindergarten through sixth grade.
My tutoring style is centered on building a strong rapport with students and tailoring each lesson to their individual learning styles. Before each session, I take time to understand how the student learns best, whether through visual aids, hands-on practice, or verbal explanation. I then create engaging lessons that break down complex concepts into manageable, digestible steps. I strongly believe in making learning both enjoyable and applicable to real-life situations, which keeps students motivated and interested. Throughout our sessions, I encourage open communication with both students and parents to ensure lessons are personalized and effective.
In my history tutoring, I focus on helping students not only memorize facts but also understand the broader context of historical events. By presenting history as a narrative, I help students connect people, places, and events in a meaningful way, making history come alive. Whether a student is aiming to improve test scores, catch up on a subject, or develop better study habits, I provide the guidance and resources necessary for success. My goal is to empower students to take ownership of their learning and achieve their academic goals with confidence and enthusiasm." less...
