"I'm Luciano! I'm a senior at the Northeastern University Honors Program working on my Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, and a minor in Philosophy. As a student I achieved a 36 on my ACT, a 1580 on my SAT, and an 800/780/760 on my Math II/Literature/Chemistry subject tests. Throughout my time as a student, peer, friend, and older brother, I have found time and time again that no matter how deeply I master a subject, my favorite part of understanding something is sharing that understanding with others. In tutoring my peers and juniors alike I have become experienced in catering my lessons to an individual's interests, preferred ways of learning, and thought processes. Your goals and the way you wish to go about achieving them are central; I am here to flatten any of the speed bumps along the way.
Thus far I have primarily tutored in an unofficial, one-on-one capacity. I have taught mathematics up through calculus to my younger brother and even my classmates, even teaching one peer all of precalculus when our teacher was difficult to learn from. I taught singing and sight-reading to my juniors in choir; chess to my peers and new members as our club captain and multi-year division champ; programming habits, concepts, and ways of thinking to my classmates and homework partners even through college. I've helped many to write essays from the creative to the analytical; I've helped with poems and short stories.
More importantly, I've taught all different kinds of students. Some were passionate and motivated, some reluctant, some naturally brilliant in their field and others more used to something else. Anyone can learn what I am there to teach. Beyond being a font of knowledge I emphasize upon being someone who will understand what you are misunderstanding. I will ask you easy questions to better respond to your difficult ones, and we will do away with the frustrations involved in learning something new." less...
