"Hello there! I am a Texas certified 1st-6th teacher with 30 years of experience. I have provided quality Reading, Writing, and Math instruction in a fun, nurturing environment for grades 3-5.
My love for reading and writing has helped instill confidence in those that I have taught over the years. I am dedicated to building a strong foundation in foundational skills, as well as providing tailored support to help elementary students overcome challenges and succeed academically. I believe that learning should be engaging and I use various teaching methods and strategies to make my students’ lessons interactive and fun. I have taught whole group and small group settings, as well as tutoring after school. My focus has been on helping students learn to love reading, and that they can do hard things!
If you choose to meet with me, I try to be flexible with time, and offer a 24 hour cancellation policy. I also offer make-up classes.
I have found that meeting at the Lewisville Public library is a great place to tutor. There are rooms available that provide a quiet and comfortable study space. However, I am flexible with traveling to another location within a 10 mile radius of my home.
