"My name is Lauren M. I was a surgical veterinary technician for 8 years before heading to Nursing school here in Rhode Island, and becoming an emergency room nurse. My unique work experience means that I am incredible well-versed in critical thinking, choosing the "best" answer out of a field of "correct" options, and working and thinking under-pressure. I have a broad and significant medical terminology vocabulary, and have no trouble with dosage calculation or medication administration. I excelled in nursing school and continue to further my learning with board certifications and continuing education courses. My passions are critical care, emergency nursing, and teaching, so I truly enjoy when those things intersect!

I precept students in the ER often, and really enjoy watching the students "get it". It's such a rewarding feeling to see the lightbulb click on, and to watch students fall in love with the learning process. I believe my unique work experience, excellent grades, and passion for learning makes me a fabulous teacher and one that you would benefit from working with!

I enjoy tutoring in nursing courses, but also enjoy science courses, to include anatomy, physiology, biology, math, etc. I also took all history electives in undergrad, and thus am available to tutor for history courses as well! In addition, I scored near perfect scores on several HESI exams (with results pages available as proof), placing me as high as the 99.86th percentile, meaning my scores were higher that nearly 33,000 U.S. nursing students in 2018 & 2019. I have taken and passed the NCLEX-PN, NCLEX-RN, CEN and TCRN exams. Thus, I like to tutor for HESI and NCEX exams as well.
