"Hello, my name is is Gautam! It is a pleasure to meet you. I have been tutoring for 14+ years. I completed my bachelor's at Virginia Commonwealth University with a double major in Biology and Music. While in college, I began my tutoring career by helping students in SAT, Biology, Chemistry, Algebra, Organic Chemistry, and Classical Flute lessons. While in medical school, I worked as an independent tutor for MCAT test prep, Physiology, Calculus, Algebra, General Chemistry, and Biology. I am currently employed as an Adjunct Faculty Instructor for Bryant & Stratton Nursing College. I teach three classes: Anatomy and Physiology I, Anatomy and Physiology II, and Pathophysiology. I have a decidedly unique approach to teaching. I use memory retention algorithms and software along with interactive tablet writing applications to maximize the efficiency of learning with mathematically proven results. I’ve created a method of learning where it is possible to retain large volumes of information in a short period of time using proper memory management techniques. I believe that the key to success in any field is not just to work hard, but to practice efficient, smart learning for maximum retention with moderate effort.
Before I begin tutoring, I gather as much information as I can about a particular student’s learning styles and habits, along with their ability to grasp information. I then create a customized lesson plan specific to each student’s needs. I do not believe in a one size fits all approach.
I use memory management algorithms to allow for spaced repetition of concepts. This enables long-term retention of subject material.
I believe in interactive learning with frequent use of animations and many examples. I regularly check a student’s retention throughout the tutoring session. I allow ample time for feedback and questions. Throughout the entire process, I have a singular goal in mind: to help the student achieve exactly what the purpose of the tutoring session dictated. In addition" less...
