"I graduated from Concordia University with my undergraduate degree in Secondary educator and a minor in social studies. During my time at Concordia I had the opportunity to tutor students in reading and English, participate in after school programs, and teach at both the middle and high school levels. Following graduation, I worked as a substitute teacher for several different school distracts in Portland. I think that all my experience so far has made me well prepared to teach and tutor students in a varsity of subject matters. I love tutoring because it gives time to really dive into a subject matter and ensure that a student has a good understanding if it. I like working with students and helping them become more knowledgeable and academically successful.

During my time at Concordia University, I had the opportunity to tutor both reading and English in an after school program for students from the local k-8th school. This experience helped me gain understanding of how to to effectively tutor reading and English in a way that is engaging and easy to follow for students.

I have a deep love of history of any kind and truly believe in its importance and relevance. So often history is taught in a way that is boring or ignores valuable perspectives, this is not how I teach history. I teach history as a story that has multiple perspectives in which diversity is valued and each student can find a way to connect what they are learning about history to their own lives. Creating those connections is the best way to teach history in a way that is impactful and easy to remember.
