"Hi I am Dian! I am a native speaker of Chinese, with a Master's degree in Language education from University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor's degree in Economics from University of California, Berkeley. I completed my education before college in Mainland China and I speak perfect Chinese with no accent.

I have 8 years of experience of tutoring Chinese to students coming from a variety of backgrounds. Students' age ranges from high school students to adults at their 60s. I have great experience in academia and I worked as a teaching assistant for college level Chinese class for two years and also as a research assistant working on a study that focused on second language learning of Japanese elementary students for two years as well. With my specialization in second language acquisition and second language teaching and learning, I believe that I can help my students learn Chinese well.

I also have 3+ years of experience of tutoring ESL students. With a master's degree in TESOL, I have great knowledge in the learning and teaching of English as a Second language. I have been working with immigrants from different countries to help them be successful in their everyday lives and their career development.

My classes always try to meet students' needs and interests and help them improve on their targeted areas. I welcome students from all levels with all different learning goals, including learning for fun, improving school grades, practicing listening, speaking, reading and/or writing skills, preparing for traveling/working/living in China/US and etc. I also do AP Chinese tutoring to help students perform well on their AP tests. I am more than happy to discuss the goals with my students and to adjust my lesson plans whenever necessary.
