"I graduated Suma Cum Laude from St. Leo University in 2000 with a BA degree in Elementary Education. I have been teaching grades K-6 for 20+ years and thoroughly enjoy seeing students gain the confidence they need to excel and succeed in their studies. I am currently teaching at an elementary school in Central Florida, have the usual summers and breaks off of school, and am also available in the evenings and on Saturdays.

When students struggle in a subject area at a young age they begin to lose confidence, the belief that they CAN learn. My goal is to gain the knowledge necessary about each and every student I teach whether it be one on one, small group, or in my classroom setting. Each student is unique and has different needs so tutoring is an advantage for being able to spend the time necessary with each student to tailor lesson plans and activities that are motivating, engaging, and geared towards their success. I introduce the standard or benchmark that needs to be addressed in an engaging and motivating way, teach the lesson with student discourse and involvement (not a teacher lecture) I allow for practice of the standard together with the student with feedback and interaction, then allow the student to practice the standard on their own. Immediate feedback is given and remediation and redirection is taught until success is achieved.

My goal is for the child to succeed in the way that they learn best; I welcome any information on resources or techniques that parents, mentors, caregivers, or teachers would like to provide that has been successful in the past for the student.
