"Teaching has been a passion of mine from a very early age. I love watching people change and grow due to the education they are receiving. I started teaching spiritual topics from a young age and until now I have taught other things such as American Sign Language, English, ESL, and life and moral values. I have been actively involved in using American Sign Language in the deaf community for twelve years and tutoring ASL for six years, including tutoring ASL to low-language deaf individuals. I also obtained my TESOL/TEFL more than six years ago to qualify me to professionally teach English as a second language. Most recently, I received my Bachelors of Principles and Methods of Language Education. The education I received and have applied in my tutoring sessions has helped me to make deep and meaningful connections with my students as we cover every topic imaginable, from cultural values to entertainment to common interests and so on. I learn from you as much as you learn from me. I cater each session to individual needs, and have fun doing so as I get to know my students!
I love being part of and growing within an international community, which means I am empathetic towards every sort of background, situation, and culture. If there's something new I can learn about someone or something, I don't hesitate to do so. I encourage my students to express themselves and listen attentively, which helps me to customize my tutoring to each one's individual needs. I employ the language education I've received to help others express themselves clearly whether it be verbally, through signs, or in written form. I lived in a couple countries in Central America, which helped me to broaden my horizons in understanding other ways of living, thinking, and expressing oneself. My experiences also helped me to be sympathetic towards language learners since I too have been in the same shoes they are in.
