I received my B.A. in Classics (i.e., Latin, Ancient Greek, ancient history and literature) and philosophy from Swarthmore College, where I graduated with highest honors and Phi Beta Kappa. I received an M.A. in Classics from the University of Chicago and a J.D. at the University of Virginia. Before discovering my love of teaching, I practiced law in Washington, D.C. for several years.

As a result, my approach uses each student’s knowledge and interests in order to foster understanding, engagement, and self-confidence. Ensuring that each student has a solid foundation is also central to my approach, whether I am teaching English, history, or a foreign language.
Because we all learn differently, each student deserves an approach that is tailored to his/her learnin" less...
