"My name is Rana and I am an attorney licensed in California. I am also a Law School Professor and have worked in bar pass and academic support for 11 years. I teach Real Property, Procedure, Intro to US Legal studies, legal writing and bar exam classes on the MPT, MEE and MBEs. I have worked with thousands of students from all backgrounds including: first time takers, repeat takers, attorney applicants and LLM applicants. Although licensed in California, I am very familiar with the UBE as well and would be happy to provide references upon request.
What to expect when you contact me: I will schedule a free 30 min phone/zoom call. During this call, I will ask questions to determine what you are looking for. If you are retaking the exam, I will review your scores so I can give you a game plan. During this call, I will explain how I would approach us working together. I don't offer a cookie cutter approach to bar tutor and will be honest with you on what I can realistically offer you.
I will not pressure you to schedule multiple sessions a week. While that may seem counterintuitive, my job is to access strengths and areas of weakness and give you the tools/guidance to use them by yourself. Many times students want to be perfect. It's impossible to be perfect and luckily you don't need to be in order to pass the exam. The bar is looking for "minimum competence" and I can show you what that looks like on each part.
In my teaching evaluations, I frequently get told that I am honest, patient and knowledgeable. My students tell me that I help them feel supported and can break down complicated topics (like freehold estates...eek!..) in a way that makes sense to them.
