"Hi welcome to my teaching profile! I love helping people learn music, guitar and piano. I have decades of teaching experience; working with third graders through adults. I've taught private lessons, group lessons at private music studio and private music schools in the Dallas metro area.

You can learn acoustic or electric guitar, in a variety of genres; including classic rock, pop, folk, blues, jazz, classic or Spanish guitar. You will learn to play with a pick, or using your fingers to pluck strings or both.

If you are advancing and ready, you can learn technique (scales, arpeggios, chords etc.), theory, note-reading and the like. You can learn to play by ear from my lessons as well as improvisation. If you are interested primarily in songs, you can learn your favorite tunes if they are within your skill level.

You lessons will be customized to work well with your preferred learning style. For example some students learn better from reading music, others learn better by observing or some prefer learning by ear.

If you wish to learn piano I can help you with that too. Mostly I work with beginner and intermediate level students. Piano is generally taught by learning to read music, step by step sequentially. You will learn the basics; how to sit at the piano, posture, arm position, finger and hand position.

I like teaching piano with Alfred Premier Piano Course. It's a great modern method, the songs are fun and in a variety of styles. I also teach some with the SUZUKI piano books; they are great for beginners. For older students, you can learn about chords, chord based playing and improvisation.

I earned my undergrad degree in music from UNT in Denton, TX. I studied classical in Spain and Italy. I've trained in Suzuki method in Park City, UT.
