"My educational journey has been both rigorous and diverse, culminating in my current role as a medical doctor. I graduated from Dartmouth University with a degree in Philosophy, which honed my critical thinking and analytical skills—qualities that are indispensable in both the medical and educational fields. Following my undergraduate studies, I pursued my medical degree at the Keck School of Medicine of USC. My medical training was further specialized through an ophthalmology residency at UMass Memorial Medical Center.
During my time in medical school, I discovered a passion for teaching and mentoring. I tutored fellow medical students in various subjects, including the basic sciences and clinical skills. This experience allowed me to develop effective tutoring methods, focusing on breaking down complex concepts into understandable segments, tailoring my approach to individual learning styles, and fostering a supportive and encouraging learning environment. Although my formal tutoring experience has primarily been within the realm of medical education, the foundational principles of teaching and learning are universal and readily transferable to other disciplines, such as mathematics.
Now, with two months before I commence my career as an ophthalmologist, I am eager to channel my passion for teaching into tutoring mathematics. My background in philosophy and medicine has equipped me with a unique perspective and a robust analytical skill set, which I believe can greatly benefit students. I am particularly interested in helping students build a strong foundation in math, fostering both their confidence and competence. I look forward to the opportunity to inspire and support the next generation of learners." less...
