"I graduated as the top scholastic achiever from 8th grade and was my High School class Salutatorian. I am a member of the following honor societies: Phi Theta Kappa from ICC and Lincoln College, as well as the international Nursing Sigma Theta Tau. I believe education creates and provides opportunities otherwise unavailable to those who do not value its importance. There can be many obstacles that delay or prevent continuing education. However, the key to success is determination and perseverance, as learning is a lifelong process. It is never too late to to decide to learn or to pursue more education - even if it is only for a subject in which a person is interested.
I love reading and learning. I greatly enjoy answering medical questions and educating patients as well as teaching students who stop by the school nurse's office. No matter how old a person is, there is always something new to learn.
I have been a nurse for 21 years and read medical articles, research health and wellness topics and greatly enjoy self-educating myself beyond what was learned in college or work.
I love to read, believe good grammar in speaking and writing is important, and find myself constantly proofreading material. Concise, succinct wording conveys a message which is clear in meaning and difficult to misunderstand.
One misspelled word can otherwise diminish excellent qualifications. So much of life's success is found in the details - and that includes making sure words are spelled correctly.
I enjoy working with students of all ages. I have discovered through the field of nursing, not only my love for educating the patients for whom I've been responsible, but also the great satisfaction in knowing that their lives are more likely to be saved by what they've learned. Learning is not always easy, but conquering even the most difficult subjects establishes the power of knowledge through the confidence-building efforts of achievement." less...
