"I have been teaching for 22 years. I have been a classroom teacher for grades 1, 3, 4 and 5 and served as a reading specialist for grades K through 5 as well as a dyslexia therapist for grades 2-10. I received my dyslexia therapist training through the Scottish Rite, and I have instructed students with dyslexia in both the public-school setting and in private tutoring as a therapist for ten years.

I am certified as an Early Education-8 classroom teacher, K-12 Reading teacher, Administrator, English as a Second Language teacher and an Educational Diagnostician. I hold a Dyslexia Therapist license from the state of Texas and I am a Certified Academic Language Therapist.

My experience includes Dyslexia Therapy with Take Flight, Neuhaus and Herman, Handwriting Without Tears, Open Court and Herman handwriting.

Spelling instruction is both multi-sensory and structured word analysis.

My instruction is systematic and sequential as well as multi-sensory. Students use repetition and connections to build automaticity.
