"Hello! My name is Sara. I have a Master's degree in Education and am certified in ESL. I have been working with children my whole life and I'm a Mom of 2 wonderful children. I have worked as a nanny, preschool teacher for 2 years, tutor, 1st and 2nd grade teacher for 7 years, and I homeschool my children. I have over 15 years teaching experience. I currently teach children English online from China and teach a drawing class at an elementary school.

I love tutoring children because I love to help them succeed and I enjoy focusing one on one with the student to achieve that by learning their strengths and interests. I have been teaching Math at the elementary level for over 15 years. I believe each student is unique and a successful teacher will find the student's learning style to identify how they learn best. With Math I like to use manipulatives for hands on learning and to relate it to their lives in order to make a connection of why we are learning this. I will guide the student with leading questions so they show me, not just show how it's done. My goal is for each student to be successful, confident, and an independent learner.

I have been teaching Reading/English at the elementary level for over 15 years. I believe each student is unique and a successful teacher will find the student's learning style to identify how they learn best. With Reading I integrate repetition so the student becomes more familiar with the words, vocabulary, increase reading fluency, and build their confidence in their ability to read. I will guide the student to work on their reading comprehension, so the student is able to understand what they are reading, as well as reading with expression. My goal is for each student to be life long readers.
