"Hello everyone!
My name is Blake and I am an Occupational Therapist licensed in California. I completed my undergraduate degree in 2016 at Concordia University of Chicago where I majored in Natural Science. In 2019 I completed my Master of Science in Occupational Therapy at West Coast University Center for Graduate Studies where I was awarded the Founding Dean's Award and the Alumni Network Professional Development Scholarship.
I have completed undergraduate and graduate coursework in a variety of science courses such as: evidence based practice, research, anatomy and physiology, exercise physiology, palpation anatomy, dissection anatomy, kinesiology, chemistry, and biochemistry. No occupational therapist training can be completed without an understanding of the social science. So in addition, I have also completed courses such as sociology, developmental psychology, and abnormal psychology to name a few.
In addition to my formal education, I have completed the Certified Neuro Specialist certification course offered by the Neuro Specialist Institute and I currently deliver course material to clinicians who attend the course. I am a contributing author to a continuing education course focusing on instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM). Ultimately, I am a lifelong learner and I enjoy the teaching process. My hope is that I will be able to return to the classroom as a student in the future to pursue a terminal degree in my field.
I have experience delivering course material to adults at the undergraduate, graduate, and professional levels. As an undergraduate, I served as a lab assistant in two anatomy laboratories where my main goal was to help students develop proficiency in both dissection and palpation anatomy. As a graduate student, I was an active member of the Peer Assisted Learning (PALS) group.
I look forward to learning how I can enable my students to be as successful as possible." less...
