"As an experienced licensed educator and a published writer, I’m enthusiastic about guiding you toward expressing yourself authentically and developing your distinctive voice. Working with me means working toward achieving clarity and drawing thoughtful and analytical conclusions in your writing.
I have taught all kinds of learners: adults, children, the elderly, multiply-disabled students, teens, and English language learners. I've taught in every setting from intimate workshops to surveys of 35 students. I work hard to design engaging assignments that encourage you to take risks and explore your creative boundaries in order to help you become a confident, skilled writer.
My track record as a teacher is marked by significant success. In 2022, I received my district's Above-and-Beyond Award, a student-nominated award given to “a tenured teacher or counselor who has made a difference in the life of a student either socially, emotionally, or academically.” In addition, the anonymous surveys that my undergraduate students completed at the end of each semester were consistently positive. One remarked that I “never ignored a remark or question, but actually encouraged us to think and be curious so we could grow.” On a similar survey, another student said, “She held conferences, gave great constructive criticism on people’s work, was supportive, and always brightened my day.”
On a personal level, I’m a creative and kind professional with a knack for putting people at ease. I’m reliable and so organized that people frequently point it out! I view interpersonal interactions as an opportunity to slow down and make connections. Those connections help us learn!
Please reach out to me to schedule a session today. I'd be happy to work with you!" less...
