"I have been an educator and tutor for over six years now. I am a classroom teacher who for my first few years worked in Elementary School. I recently made the change to High School the last school year. My entire life I have wanted to enrich and educate learners of all ages because this is a process that never ends. We should always want to gain more knowledge. Additionally, I have been a tutor for over three years. I tutor all subjects of a school curriculum as well as working with Admissions exams such as the ISEE, SSAT, and SAT.

I love tutoring because it allows me to work directly with an individual. The opportunity for progress and growth is so much more available when I am able to focus on one learner. In a classroom we all learn in a variety of ways and styles; utilizing various strategies we learn through the years. When I tutor I can create lessons and guides that best fit the needs of the individual, allowing me to construct individualized lesson plans. I have learned that this allows for the best results to be acquired through the tutoring process.

I studied Elementary Education in University and gained a lot of knowledge through my classes and internships. This allowed me to gain employment as an Elementary School teacher. I taught or interned in Grades 1-6 and have worked on curriculums in all subject areas. This allows me to be well versed in how to best work with students at this age. Through my studies I have received and ESOL and Reading endorsements. These were earned through certain work done in classes offered by the University. My internshios provided me with chances to work with whole class, small group, and one on one situations. I was the teacher and was supervised, not aided.

I am currently a high school teacher. The subjects I teach are Theory of Knowledge, Methodology of Investigation, and English Literature. All of these require students to write reports and essays of various structures, and I am the one who evaluates them and guides them through the process." less...
