"Hi, my name is Kyle. I’m an avid learner and thoroughly enjoy sharing my knowledge with others. I graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor’s in Mathematics with a minor in Computer Science and Physics. My skills are in Math and Science with a focus on ACT prep, programming, and physics. I have experience studying, taking, and tutoring for the ACT, among other standardized tests, and achieved a score of 35 of a possible 36. I like to draw on my previous experience to guide my instruction along with incorporating advice and methods from established sources. I find the process that worked for me and led me to scoring highly isn’t a ‘one size fits all’ solution. I tailor the learning and practice methods to fit the student instead of forcing students to fit into a rigid learning model. I find this leads to easier and more enjoyable learning, and ultimately to making a student as successful as possible.
While pursuing my degree in Computer Science and Mathematics, I worked as a tutor for both my university and a local ACT prep tutoring business. This was all one-on-one tutoring in a variety of subjects. I also have experience teaching in small group and classroom settings. I helped out at a nearby elementary school’s after school math program, as well as teaching a beginner’s programming class at the university-partnered college preparatory school. After graduating I became a software developer at Amazon where I further developed my computer science skills and learned industry standards.
I am happy to make tailored lesson plans once I get to know a little about the student and have an idea of what the student needs help with, and I’m always open to any resources or suggestions you may have. I am easy to get a hold of and respond quickly. Feel free to reach out with any questions or to schedule a lesson!" less...
