"I have a PhD from the University of Michigan in Linguistics. My teaching experience includes several years teaching courses in linguistics, including general linguistics, phonetics, and phonology. I also have several years of experience teaching introductory college composition.

As an instructor and tutor, I love to help students do well and feel confident in their classes.

My background gives me the ability to help you with a wide range of linguistics topics. My primary strengths are phonetics and phonology, since is the focus of my research, but I have also taught most common linguistics topics (such as syntax, semantics, and sociolinguistics) at the introductory level.

I can also help you with your writing. Since I am both a linguist and writing instructor, I am especially good at giving practical, evidence-based advice on grammar, style, and genre conventions.
