"I graduated from college with a bachelor's degree in government and have worked in issues related to human needs, advocating in state government on social issues.

I served as the Director of the New York State Office for the Aging. I prepared and delivered a lot of powerpoint presentations on social issues particularly with regard to public policies regarding health, aging and demographic changes.

I have also written three books, one of the senior citizens movement in New York State. The other two have been about the history of the Olympics in Lake Placid. I am very active in a number of community organizations in the Albany area.

Another book I wrote was called the Citizens' Guide to the New York State Legislature. With this book as the source, I have also provided a number of training sessions and made public presentations to community organization staff about how government works, particularly at the state level. I have done this with small groups as well as individuals. So, this role and experience has been very comparable to tutoring.
