"Hello! I recently graduated from NYU Law and am working as a legal fellow with an environmental nonprofit. I have not tutored through this site in a while, but worked in the interim at a standardized test prep company, where I worked with students on the ACT, SAT, PSAT, and ISEE.
I received a 178 on the LSAT. I LOVED that test and would be very excited to tutor it! I am also happy to work with students on the other standardized tests I mentioned, or on general writing and grammar questions. (Some of my favorite tutoring through this site has been helping college applicants with their admission essays.)
I am able to meet in person or over Zoom. Please reach out if you think I could be of assistance!
I am a recent graduate of Wellesley College, and have been tutoring and working with kids in various capacities for several years. During college I worked for two years with Let's Get Ready, a volunteer SAT tutoring organization; our students' scores increased by an average of over 200 points. I tutored my kids in strategies for the verbal and writing sections; I'm willing to take a stab at the math, but would need some warning as I'm more of a word-oriented person. My personal scores on the SAT were 800 in verbal, 800 in writing, and 710 in math.
I also spent two years as a volunteer college adviser for low-income high school juniors, helping them navigate deadlines and come up with ideas for their essays, and have worked occasionally as a private Latin tutor. In addition, I have worked as a self-defense instructor for middle-school age girls, volunteer once a week at a preschool for homeless children, and have years of babysitting experience (including with my three younger siblings). I am currently looking at teaching residency programs for elementary education. When I'm not working with kids, I work as a political organizer and write young adult fantasy novels." less...
