"Hello, My name is Maryam. In December 2016, I graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Master’s degree in the French Language. Since 2009, I have been working as a French-language instructor at the university, schools, and Modern languages and immigration institutes. I have taught the French language to students from different countries like China, England, Canada, and the United States. As an instructor, I have had a thorough experience in teaching of physical and online courses through different learning technologies like Skype, Desire2Learn (D2L), Canvas, Vista Higher Learning system, and Edgenuity.

Since childhood, I have been a travel lover and I visited different countries. My dream to travel around the world pushed me toward studying new languages and cultures. I am a native speaker in Farsi and I speak French and English languages as well. I hold a bachelor’s degree and two master’s degrees in French language & literature. I lived in France in 2012 and I visited different cities like Paris, Nice, Lyon, and Marseille. In addition, I attended French language and cultural courses at the Service of Cooperation and Cultural Action of the French Embassy to enrich my knowledge of French language and culture.

I teach the French language from beginner to advance levels. Also, I prepare students for the TEF test (The Test d'évaluation de Français pour le Canada). I teach Farsi language from beginner to advanced levels.

As a teacher and a trilingual speaker, I can totally understand all the challenges students face in learning a new language and adjusting to a new culture. I have found teaching foreign languages very rewarding and it is my goal to put my energies in creating a dialogue with the students, helping them overcome their speaking anxiety and creating a student-centered class." less...
