My name is Aryanna and I have been a DCPS teacher for over a decade.

I have taught students PreK-Adults with varying needs and supports. Specifically, working as an ELL teacher for the past few years, I work directly with students with special needs and various linguistic backgrounds. I see scaffolding as a puzzle I can put together, and when all the pieces are lined up, seeing the concepts finally click for my students is an incredible dopamine boost!

I am a certified Elementary Education, SPED, ELL, and Reading Specialist through OSSE. I also completed a Master's Degree from American University in Reading Instruction using the Science of Reading and am currently completing my doctoral degree from the University of Florida in Education. I started teaching swimming when I was in high school in Japan and have continued doing it for almost 20 years!

Seeing the light in my student's eyes as concepts align on land or in the water brings me so much joy.

I strive to constantly use data to inform my tutoring sessions. Based on the information gathered from previous sessions, I plan each lesson with your needs in mind. I can work with you in person or virtually.
