"Tony Canty is an arts-based educator who uses his background in theatre, creative writing, and education to create an immersive learning experience for children. Tony’s philosophy uses an interdisciplinary approach providing a multi-sensory experience. For over 15 years (8 as an NYC public school teacher) he has gained experience working with children with special needs as well as the gifted and talented who learn and express themselves best using a broad scope of art-based learning channels.

I have taught kids in grades K-5 for eight years as a classroom teacher. I am fully certified to teach in New York State and have experience with all subjects (Maths, Science, S.S., Language Arts)

I write children's stories for a living as well as am creating my own stories podcast.

I love learning about history. I have conducted many project-based experiences in which children(in classroom and tutoring) learn about historical events and cultures, and show what they have learned through the arts such as theatre and crafts.

I have taught kids with special needs and autism for many years. I have worked as a play facilitator, developing children's social skills and implementing helpful routines for their independent living skills to creating positive social integration within society.
