"I graduated from Trinity College in 2022 double majoring in Mechanical Engineer and Physics with a 3.5 GPA. During my time in college, I was able to serve as a teaching assistant for several math and physics courses and was given an award of excellence for my student teaching. I have been tutoring math since my sophomore year in high school and have found how much I genuinely enjoy teaching and getting to know my students. Helping them understand complicated subjects and seeing the “light bulb moment” has become a goal and the highlight of my tutoring sessions. I am most comfortable teaching student’s 9th grade and above.
I primarily tutor Calculus, Pre-Calculus, and AP Calculus. Since 2020 I have tutored 12 students in AP Calc AB and all of them passed the exam, with a majority of them getting 5s! I am also very comfortable teaching Algebra I and II. Most of my tutoring session utilize a white board platform where we work on homework and practice problems together. I aim to teach problem solving skills and fundamentals in understanding a problem. This way. students to be able to transfer their knowledge to problems they have and have not seen before.
Additionally, I am comfortable helping students with test prep. I personally got a 35 on the ACT and have a track record of students who I have helped and are happy with the scores they received. My test prep focus is primarily the ACT but I am also able to help with the math sections of the SAT and PSAT.
Outside of tutoring, I currently work full time as a engineer in the San Francisco Bay Area, and am an origami artist, flautist, enjoyer of board games, and very avid figure skater. As a tutor, my goal is to connect with my students and help them succeed in their chosen path. Whether that is helping with school work, trying to get ahead in class, or test prep, I genuinely want to see my students excited and happy about the grades and results they are achieving." less...
