"I love helping students learn! Full stop. I have a lifetime of tutoring experience that ranges from working with special education high school students up through college level physics, math, and engineering majors. I've taught a wide range of subjects in physics, math, chemistry, and I even once taught a high school course on snowboarding and backcountry safety. Teaching is what I do.
After completing a master’s degree in Physics at the University of Colorado at Boulder, I spent the majority of my career teaching in the classroom. I taught AP Physics C, honors physics, pre-algebra, algebra 1 and 2, and honors precalculus over the course four years working as a high school teacher before moving on to teach at the college level for several years. I have experience teaching and tutoring all math levels up through Calculus BC, both in the high school and college setting.
Tutoring is now my full-time job because I love working with students one-on-one most of all!
One of my favorite experiences as a high school teacher was helping students who had failed a basic math skills test that war required for graduation. Out over thirty students, only one failed to pass the exam on their second attempt. It was one of the true highlights of my teaching career. There's nothing better than watching someone go from the mindset of I can't, to I can!
I have experience with the AP exams not only as a teacher, but as a student. I received a five on all three AP Physics tests (they are now broken into four tests), the AP Calculus BC test, the AP Chemistry test, the AP Literature, and the American History test. I know precisely what it feels like to be the one preparing for those intimidating tests.
On the college level, I have tutored physics, math, chemistry, and engineering students. I also worked as a lab TA, grader, and problem solving session leader for the Engineering Physics course.
From middle school math to Calculus, wherever you're at, I'll meet you there!" less...
